PRIVACY AND DATA PROTECTION POLICY

This Privacy Policy (hereinafter – the "Policy") explains how Kurslog (hereinafter – "Kurslog", "Company", "we", "us") collects, uses, stores, and protects the personal data of Users (hereinafter – "you", "User") of the KursLog mobile application (hereinafter – the "Application").
By using the Application, you confirm that you have read this Policy and give your unconditional consent to the processing of your personal data under the terms set forth below.
If you do not agree with the terms of this Policy, please stop using the Application immediately.
1. General Provisions
1.1. The owner of the personal data processed through the Application is Kurslog.
1.2. This Policy is developed in accordance with the Constitution of Ukraine, the Law of Ukraine "On Personal Data Protection", and other applicable legislation of Ukraine.
1.3. This Policy is a public document and is available to all Users of the Application.
1.4. The Application may contain links to third-party websites or services. This Policy does not apply to such sites, and we are not responsible for their privacy practices. We advise you to review the privacy policies of any third-party resources.
2. What Data We Collect
2.1. We process only the data that you provide consciously and voluntarily, or data that is collected automatically during the use of the Application.
2.2. We may collect the following categories of personal data:
- Data provided by you: Name, email address, provided during registration or when contacting customer support.
- Data collected automatically: User ID and Device ID.
- Usage data: History of search queries and page views *within the Application*, data about your interaction with the Application's functionality.
- Technical data: Information about errors in the Application's operation and other diagnostic parameters.
2.3. We do not collect or process "sensitive" personal data (such as data on racial origin, political opinions, religious beliefs, health status, etc.).
3. Purposes and Legal Basis for Data Processing
3.1. We process your data exclusively for specific, clearly defined purposes, and only when we have a legal basis to do so.
3.2. The legal basis for processing is your consent, provided by accepting this Policy (Clause 1, Article 11 of the Law of Ukraine "On Personal Data Protection").
3.3. We use your data for the following purposes:
- Providing services: To create and maintain your account, provide access to the Application's features, and display your search history.
- Communicating with you: To send responses to your inquiries, service messages (e.g., about updates), and information related to your account.
- Improving the Application: To analyze errors, diagnose problems, and understand how Users interact with the Application, in order to optimize and improve it.
- Security: To ensure the security of the Application and prevent fraud.
4. Data Storage and Protection
4.1. Data processing and storage are carried out in secure data centers that use appropriate equipment and software to protect data.
4.2. Data is stored for the period necessary to achieve the purposes specified in Section 3 of this Policy, or until you withdraw your consent or request data deletion (unless otherwise required by the current legislation of Ukraine).
4.3. We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your data from loss, unauthorized access, alteration, or destruction (including encryption and access control).
4.4. Despite all efforts, we cannot guarantee absolute protection against threats that arise beyond our control.
4.5. The User is personally responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of their login credentials for the Application (login, password).
5. Data Transfer to Third Parties
5.1. We do not transfer your personal data to third parties, except as expressly provided in this Policy or by current legislation.
5.2. We may provide access to your data to:
- Our employees and contractors: Access is granted on a "need-to-know" basis and only to the extent necessary for them to perform their duties (e.g., technical support). All of them are bound by strict confidentiality obligations.
- Service providers: We may engage third parties to provide services (e.g., cloud hosting, analytics services). Such providers receive access only to the data necessary to provide the service and are obliged to protect it at a level no less than that specified in this Policy.
- By legal requirement: Upon a reasoned request from state authorities of Ukraine in the manner prescribed by law.
6. User Rights
6.1. As a personal data subject, you have the rights provided by Article 8 of the Law of Ukraine "On Personal Data Protection". In particular, you have the right to:
- Know about the sources of collection, the location of your personal data, and the purpose of its processing.
- Receive information about the conditions for granting access to personal data.
- Access your personal data.
- Receive a response as to whether your personal data is being processed, and receive the content of such data.
- Submit a reasoned objection to the processing of your personal data.
- Request the modification or deletion (destruction) of your personal data if this data is processed illegally or is inaccurate.
- Protection of your data from unlawful processing, loss, damage, and from providing information that is inaccurate or defames your honor, dignity, and business reputation.
- File complaints about data processing to the Ukrainian Parliament Commissioner for Human Rights or to a court.
- Apply legal remedies in case of violation of legislation.
- Withdraw consent to the processing of personal data at any time.
6.2. To exercise your rights or to withdraw consent, you can send a request to the email address specified in Section 8 of this Policy.
7. Changes to the Policy
7.1. We reserve the right to make changes to this Policy at any time. Changes take effect from the moment the new version is published in the Application.
7.2. We recommend that you review this Policy regularly. By continuing to use the Application after changes are made, you confirm your agreement with the new revision of the Policy.
