Dogecoin Labs merges MyDoge, DogeOS and Such App into one company

October 22, 20263 min read

The teams behind Dogecoin's biggest apps have merged into a single company called Dogecoin Labs. It was created together with the Dogecoin Foundation and is led by Jordan Jefferson, the founder of MyDoge and DogeOS. The company wants to give Dogecoin holders more places to spend the coin, not just hold or sell it.

What exactly was created?

Dogecoin Labs was announced on Tuesday, October 20. It is an independent company, and the Foundation and its commercial arm House of Doge handed over intellectual property and developers. Three products now sit under one roof, namely the MyDoge wallet, the DogeOS app platform and Such App, a tool for businesses to accept payments.

In short: Dogecoin Labs puts a wallet, an app platform and a merchant payment service into one business, so that DOGE is used as money more often than as a meme.

The Foundation does not go away. It still handles open source code, developer support and community work, while Labs takes care of products and commercial activity.

"No other digital asset has Dogecoin's combination of liquidity, community and cultural reach, and its potential has barely been tapped."

- Jordan Jefferson, CEO of Dogecoin Labs, in the announcement of the company, October 20, 2026

How do the three products fit together?

The scheme goes like this. Developers write apps on DogeOS, coin holders find them through MyDoge, and businesses accept payment through Such App.

  • MyDoge: a wallet that, according to the team, has more than 500,000 users acquired without paid ads, and its V3 update already connects it to DogeOS apps.
  • DogeOS runs as a separate network with an environment similar to Ethereum, and opened a public testnet for developers on September 30.
  • Such App in test mode can issue invoices and take payment at points of sale through QR.
  • Its link to DogeOS is still only a plan.

Why is this needed? Dogecoin is among the largest and most recognizable cryptocurrencies, with deep liquidity, millions of holders and one of the most active communities. Yet the number of products and businesses built on DOGE is small next to that audience. The new company wants to close exactly that gap, and the community has chanted "DOGE to $1" for years, so expectations are high.

The company's plans include wallets, payments, commerce, trading, DeFi, games, AI and social apps. The list is wide, and ready products number three.

Why is it too early to call DogeOS ready?

The testnet lets developers build lending services, exchanges and games, but with test DOGE. The Dogecoin network itself only handles coin transfers, so the apps run on a separate system. Three weeks after launch, the public DogeOS guide still marks its featured apps as "coming soon".

There is a technical gap too. DogeOS wants the Dogecoin network to check mathematical proofs that apps ran correctly. The rule change needed for that exists only as a draft. Until then, users have to trust DogeOS's chosen operators and hardware. That is fine for tests and a serious caveat for real money.

How did price and investors react?

Calmly. On Tuesday DOGE traded near $0.084 (up 3.9% on the day) with a market cap of roughly $13 billion. Still, the coin lost about 14% over the month and sits almost 88% below its May 2021 record.

The institutional story is mixed as well. A 21Shares DOGE ETF backed by the Dogecoin Foundation reached Nasdaq this year. At the same time, Bitwise shut its own Dogecoin fund because of low demand.

What does it mean for people who hold DOGE?

If you own Dogecoin, there is nothing urgent to do. The news is about future options, not today's price. The real test will be simple. Will apps appear that people use without incentives, and will Such App sign up real shops? For now it is more a promise than a finished product.

At Kurslog we think it is too early to talk about an effect on the DOGE rate without live apps and running payments.
