The team behind the TRUMP memecoin has announced a third dinner for the token's biggest holders. On November 22, US President Donald Trump will show up at his golf club in Washington to meet the 185 holders at the top of a ranking. The event landed in the middle of a political fight over the CLARITY crypto bill, so people are talking about it far more loudly than the earlier ones.
What exactly was announced?
The announcement appeared on Wednesday on the GetTrumpMemes website, which promotes the Official Trump (TRUMP) token. The dinner will take place on November 22 at Trump's golf club in Washington. Besides the president, the organizers promise three guests whose names have not been released yet.
The organizers themselves call it "the most exclusive dinner in the world."
How do you get on the guest list?
To understand the mechanics, look at the selection rules. The organizers keep a ranking of token holders and score them over a fixed period.
- Scoring window: from September 30 to November 12, a little over six weeks.
- The top 185 positions in the ranking make the list.
- Trump will arrive with three guests who have not been named.
- Anyone willing to pay can buy the token, so the contest is open to everyone with money.
TRUMP was issued on the Solana blockchain, so taking part takes only a wallet and access to an exchange. The term "holder" simply means an owner who keeps the token instead of selling it.
How is this dinner different from the earlier ones?
The first event took place in May 2025 for 220 token holders. The biggest holder then was Tron network founder Justin Sun, with about $19 million in tokens. The SEC, whose chair was picked by Trump, later settled its lawsuit against Sun for $10 million.
The list is now shorter and the cut is harsher: 185 seats against 297 in April.
Why is the dinner so controversial?
In August, the group Public Citizen calculated that investors in the Trump family's crypto projects have been sitting on losses of $4.7 billion since 2022. The memecoin accounts for $3.2 billion of that. The token spiked to $70 before the January 2025 inauguration and fell below $20 within days. It now trades around $2.06.
"In the best case, the dinner is unethical and unconscionable profiteering off the presidency."
- Robert Weissman, co-president of Public Citizen, comment to Cointelegraph
According to Trump's 2025 disclosures, his crypto-related earnings reached $1.4 billion, including the memecoin. A White House spokesperson referred questions to the event organizers. Senator Chris Coons called the dinner corruption in a Bluesky post.
How does this tie into the CLARITY Act?
The announcement came a few weeks after the US Senate failed to advance the CLARITY Act. Every Democrat present voted no, and some of them said the bill's ethics provision does not address Trump's profits from crypto.
The window for another attempt is narrow, running until the next session of Congress in 2027. Polls show Democrats have a chance of taking the majority in the House and the Senate. That only makes the bill's future less certain.
The market reacted briefly: after the announcement TRUMP gained about 9%, to $2.23 from $2.05, but quickly slid back to $2.06.
What to expect next?
The names of the three guests and the final list of 185 holders will become known closer to November 22. We at Kurslog do not advise buying memecoins for the sake of an invitation: the price of such a token depends on news and politics far more than on any product.
